Ashes

Ashes- Sophie black

the shots that were used in this video were

  • close up
  • extreme close up
  • mid shot
  • extreme close up
The shots were used more then one because the short film was sort of showing her feeling trapped in a relationship that she no longer wants to be in. There is a wide show in the short film but its only about 5 seconds to 10 seconds long.

the sounds that were in the short film were something you would find on a horror movie because of the fear she has of being with the man she is with and it looks like she feels dead inside when she looks at him. you can hear a screeching sound when the scenes are changing to her nightmare and his reality.

i thought the short film was creative but it did get a little confusing when it kept flicking backwards and forwards out of the way she see's things or her dream.

  1. A basic analysis of the short film, but to improve it you would need add information about whether the story was linear or non-linear, what types of sounds were used, and apply the theory learned in classes
